Just married!

On Saturday, Jeanin, one of my sweetest Instagram friends, got married. So many of the happy crafty friends decided to create together a mini book with our congrats for her. Each one of us created one page measuring 10 by 10 cm with rounded corners, and then we put all the pages together. Look at the finished project:

 Isn't it fabulous?
And here's the page I contributed to the project:

I created a background with Ranger Distress oxides Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers and some stencils. Then I die-cut the tree with the Penny Black Tree of Love die out of red and white cardstock. I used the main part of the white die-cut, discarded some of the white hearts and replaced two of the white hearts with ted ones. I glued some more red hearts in the top right corner of the panel and added the sentiment by Clearly Besotted with Archival Jet Black ink.

Look at all the other pages by hopping along the blogs on my blog roll, most of them participated.

A bit of autumn...

Where's the summer gone? I somehow have the feeling that we didn't have a real summer at all, and now it's already beginning to look like autumn with colorful leaves everywhere. This inspired me for my project today. Take a look...

The Ranger Distress Oxide inks include some awesome autumn colors. I chose spiced marmelade, fossilized amber, wild honey, candied apple, peeled paint und lucky clover to blend over the Dutch Doobadoo Fabric stencil with the Ranger Blending Tool onto a piece of white cardstock. I then splattered some water onto it to create the light sprinkles and added splatters of Ken Oliver Liquid Metals Copper. They create a really lustrous metallic effect. This is what the panel looked like:

I cut a bunch of leaves with the Waffle Flower Greenery dies out of this panel. Don't they look just gorgeous?

I created two cards with the die-cut leaves. The sentiments are from the Waffle Flower stamp sets Enveloper Hello and Happy Day. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Have a late summery week - autumn only on these cards 😉!

Happy Birthday, Birka!

A very special post today... where do I start?
Today there's the launch of a very, very special Blog Hop. A lot of us have been looking forward to this for a very long time, and I'm so happy and proud to be part of all that amazing stuff going on! It's Birka's birthday today  - you all know Birka, don't you? She's one of the most amazing, funny, creative, kind and caring people out in this crafty world. And that's why the Happy Crafty Friends, a group of amzing, incredibly talented girls secretly planned a Blog Hop with tons of surprises and had a hard but oh so fun time keeping secrets, hiding stuff and trying to hold our tongues!

Well, every Blog Hop starts with a card, so - drumroll, please - here's my birthday card for dearest Birka!

Birka loves everything pink and glitter, so of course this card had to be the most pink card I ever created! The background is made with Ranger Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry ink and a The Art of Brett Weldele stencil. I added a bit of shimmer with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Peony Pink and some dots of Nuvo Jewel Dops Pale Periwinkle.

The Art of Brett Weldele Stencil gewischt. Am Rand dann noch ein wenig Glitzer mit Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Peony Pink, und dann noch ein paar Pünktchen Nuvo Jewel Dops Pale Periwinkle darauf.

The image is one of the exclusive stamps the Happy Crafty Friends designed just for Birks's birthday and the Blog Hop - you can win it if you join the party, so make sure to read this post completely! I colored the image with Copic markers and a white Sharpie and added some black Wink of Stella on the nose. The doggie sits on an action wobble, so you can see this fun little guy wobbling on the card because he's so happy to join Birka's party.

So this is my card - now it's time to take a look at all the other amazing cards created by the Happy Crafty Friends - go to their brandnew blog!

Surfing by...

Today I bring you some summer-sun-fun-holidays mood with a shaker card with this cool cat image by Penny Black.

I started with the funny main image which is part of the Kool Kats stamp set by Penny Black. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers.

Then I cut a shaker window out of light blue cardstock with my cutting board, stamped the sentiment with Memento Paris Dusk ink on it and glued some acetate foil with Ranger Glossy Accents behind it. I cut narrow stripes of foam tape and glued them onto the acetate foil. Then I put some sequins (blue, green) and microbeads onto the image, positioned the shaker window over it and pressed it firmly down.
Now for the background. I used my Dutch Doobadoo Fabric stencil and wiped some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Cornflower Blue onto a white card base. I love the shimmer and texture you create with that, take a closer look!

That's it - just glue the shaker element onto the card base, and a fun card is finished.
