Sponged Snowflakes

We haven't had any snow yet here in Germany, but in my craft room it is snowing all the time, LOL!
For this card I used a Spellbinders Impressabilities template and sponged it with several blue and violet shades of Adirondack inks. I love the soft, somewhat blurred result.
Sentiment by Der Bessere Eindruck, using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

Wind In My Hair

I bought a fascinating stamp last week at a second-hand stamp market. Unfortunately, I don't know the manufacturer as I bought it unmounted. Now I used it for the first time - I thought it would be perfect for the SCS Inspiration Challenge. As my inspiration piece I used this wonderful chocolate package:

And the card I created referring to this inspiration piece is this one:

I sponged and brayered several shades of Ranger Adirondack ink onto Chromolux cardstock, then overstamped the image with StazOn Jet Black. The sentiment is by Penny Black and stamped onto black cardstock with Ranger Adirondack Snowcap White Pigment ink. I added some rhinestones and a small jewellery piece.

Find Joy in Little Leaves

Today's Splitcoast technique lovers challenge is to cut out embossed pieces and create a design with these pieces. What a simple and stunning idea! I had to try this with one of my cuttlebug folders immediately! I sponged the embossed image with several shades of fluid chalk inks (Colorbox), then cut out parts of the embossed image. Some design paper (7gypsies), a sentiment (Stampin'Up), a ribbon - voila!

World Cardmakers' Day

I had the chance to play along with the World Cardmaking Day Challenges on the Splitcoaststampers forum today. I wanted to use some Teykol resist again - it's one of my absolute favorite techniques.
I stamped the image with Black StazOn onto glossy cardstock, then brushed some Teykol resist medium a little besides the lines of the image. When it was dry (it takes only a few minutes), I sponged different shades of Adirondack inks over the whole image. Finally, I added some highlights on the flowers with a white gelly pen. I matted the image with some black cardstock onto Basic Grey design paper and added some strips of cuttlebug-embossed cardstock. I sponged some cream and white Prima flowers with Adirondack inks and added brads. The sentiment is stamped onto a punch-out circle, the black border is drawn with a black marker.

This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper challenge. Kim has such a wonderful gallery! It was a hard choice, but as I love Zindorfian scenes as much as Kim does, I just had to case this Zindorf-style card

I sponged the sunset with various Ranger Adirondack inks, then overstamped some braches and birds with black ink. The whole panel is covered with clear MicroBeads using double-sided clear adhesive foil. I added some "Markie'sMom-Dots" with stickles around the scalloped border, and as I don't have such a wonderful border punch as Kim has got, I just used my decorative blade on my paper trimmer. As I am a complete failure on sewing, I did it without any sewing, stitching or what else has to do with needles and yarn... LOL!
I hope you like the card! Perhaps this one was the last I could create for the next few weeks as my dh is just packing his suitcase to go to the hospital tomorrow to have a kidney transplantation. Although I know this is a big chance and luck for us, I'm very much afraid of all the things that might possibly go wrong. Please think of us. Thank you all!

Bella Meets Zindorf

Just in the mood for some goofy thing this evening...
Playing around with today's Splitcoaststampers' sketch challenge, I wanted to use my Cruisabella (perhaps some result of my yearning for some sun, with so much rain in the last weeks that I could hardly use my convertible this summer!). But I wanted to do some brayering and sponging, too - I'm always practising in some silly hope that one day I could achieve "Zindorfian" results... Do you know Michelle Zindorf's wonderful Blog with those gorgeous tutorials? Please check out my blog list on the right and look at Michelle's blog!
SO - though I assume that Michelle would never use a Bella on her cards and though I assume that Bella-Fans hardly use a brayer I just imagined how Bella would look like if she just was on her way to a private Zindorf-brayering class... (oh my gosh, would I be envious of her about that, LOL).
I first stamped Bella with Black StazOn on glossy cardstock, then masked her completely with some post-it notes and created the street, grass, sky and sun by sponging different shades of Adirondack inks (masking parts of the scene as needed). I added some definition to the grass with some mini stamps and added some flowers with markers. Then I stamped the trees, Bella still being masked. I removed the masks and colored Bella, the car and the trees with Tombow markers and added some highlights with a white gelly pen. Oh, by the way, I didn't expect the Tombow markers to work on glossy cardstock and first tried LetrasetProMarkers, but they seem to use the same solvent as the StazOn ink does, so they smeared a little bit. I then tried the Tombows, and, surprise-surprise, they work excellent on glossy cardstock!
Finally I attached the scene onto green cardstock, added the corner brads, the ribbon and dp and attached it onto a white card. Oh, and because it's a BellaMobile, it needed some sparkle, so I added rhinestones for the headlamps.
Michelle, please forgive me, I love your cards and tutorials, I just had to do something daffy, so I combined your wonderful scenes with this Bella! And all you Bella-holics, please forgive me, I really admire your super-sweet and perfect Bella cards - I'll try to get to something more "serious" again next time...
BUT...don't you think, this Cruisabella has just a lot of fun on her way to the private Zindorf class???
